I will be the lecturer of the Scientific English course for this semester.
Let's get to know each other first.
My name is Rachid Maamri and I hold a bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering, option: Internal combustion engine, since 1991, and a master degree in Mechanical engineering, option: Internal combustion engine since 1993, both from the National Technical university of Kharkov The Soviet Union, and a PhD in Engineering, option: Internal combustion engine, from the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi Canada since 2015.
My field of research was the use of alternative fuels, such as: Liquefied Natural Gas, Liquefied Petrol Gas, Hydrogen and even compressed air as fuels in marine, stationary, locomotive and vehicle compression ignition or spark ignition internal combustion engines.
Course content
The objective of teaching this course is learning the terminology and the pronunciation of vocabulary in relation to the materials.
To note that the Scientific English requires precise language to ensure that the intended meaning is conveyed accurately. Avoid vague or ambiguous language, and use precise terminology to describe your research findings.
For our course, we recommend that students or the learners should have sufficient knowledge of Materials science.
The course includes just lectures. Teaching is given in English.
The final grade is based on written exam (counts 100%).
