Cet enseignement permet à l’étudiant l’assimilation des techniques d’élaboration et de caractérisation mécaniques et physiques des matériaux céramiques et liants techniques utilisés dans l’industrie. Il lui permet également la compréhension des processus de fabrication des matériaux de types céramique et de leurs mécanismes d’adhésion.

This course deals with polymer and composite materials. First some definitions about natural polymers will be given, then industrial polymers which are much more widely used nowadays will be described. The second part of this course will focus on how industrial polymers were developed. This will lead to the description of their chemical, electrochemical physical and mechanical properties, moreover this will not exclude that other properties and field of applications can also be discussed. The third part of this course will be dedicated to composite materials including general information on composites, their definition and classification. Students will be introduced to the concept of volume and mass fraction in composites. Then, the materials constituting the composites such as the resin generally considered as the matrix which encompasses all the other constituents (fillers and additives, fibers and fabrics, main fibers will also be described.
